About

If you’re like most of my readers you’re already a teacher who loves engaging their students and making them a part of the learning process. You're not a teacher who feeds information to your students. You're the kind of teacher who facilitates and guides so that your students feel empowered by their ability to be in control of their learning. You’re committed to doing all that you can for your students and seeing results in the classroom.

But you’re not just looking to meet the standards you are supposed to be teaching, you’re looking to make your students' learning experience meaningful to them. You do all that you can to make sure your students are excited to enter your classroom each day. You want for your students to have long lasting success in and outside of your classroom.Your students already enjoy coming to your classroom and look forward to what you bring to them each day. You have the energy, creativity and stamina that makes anyone who enters your classroom feel lucky to be there. You have an innate need to be the best teacher that you already are.

By subscribing to my website or joining our Facebook group, you will connect with other teachers and share experiences, questions and ideas. The posts you read here will inspire you to try something new and get organized for those new ideas. Perhaps you want to make your Socratic seminars, writing units or projects even better than the year before. I know I always do!

A Little Bit About Me
I am in my 15th year of teaching and currently in a project-based school, teaching 6th grade Humanities. I love teaching comprehension strategies through Socratic Seminars and novel study activities while integrating history and current events! You will find a TON of ideas on this site that you might want to try in your classroom!  I love that I get to share a lot of what I learned (and am still learning) with you either through my blog posts, social media pages or through the resources I've created. I LOVE to hear from teachers, so please feel free to email me with questions about teaching, to tell me about a success you're having or leave a comment on a post!
